Joshua McElroy (CHAR) is a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art with a Bachelor’s in Video. Other than being a versatile Visual Artist, he’s also a Musician, a Comedian and of course an Actor. Joshua got started in theatre six years ago while he was the Director of the Shaker Heights Improv Team at Shaker Heights High School, as well as a member of Case Western Reserve University's IMPROVment. Joshua was also part of a weekly performing comedy group at the Hilarities 4th Street Theater in Downtown Cleveland’s Pickwick & Frolic. Joshua has been in a number of plays around the city of Cleveland at Ensemble Theatre, Waterloo Arts Center, Cuyahoga Community College, convergence-continuum and recently Cleveland Public Theatre's rolling world premiere of BR'ER COTTON. Joshua got his start at the Karamu House in musicals such as THE COLOR PURPLE, THE WIZ and Karamu 2.0’s extraordinary run of PASSING STRANGE. Joshua is so excited to be making his Dobama Theatre debut in ELLA ENCHANTED.
