YOUNG PLAYWRIGHTS PROGRAM (YPP)

ABOUT THE PROGRAM

Bring writing for performance into your classroom!

Dobama Theatre partners with schools and community organizations to bring the art of playwriting to language arts and drama classrooms all over Northeast Ohio.

The YPP is taught by professional playwrights and theatre artists right in your own classroom! The wide-ranging resources available include workshops, residencies (3 or more sessions), instructional videos, and a fully adaptable curriculum based on grade level. The YPP is currently FREE to public schools in some districts.

Creative writing is not just for English classes. The YPP encourages students to explore history, science, and current events in addition to different genres of traditional storytelling.

Contact Director of Education, Carrie Williams, at youngplaywrights@dobama.org to bring the YPP to your school or group!
