Audience Engagement Events

Dobama Theatre offers audience members ways to interact with the art through our audience engagement programs.

Opening Night Champagne Receptions

opening night of every production

Join us after the opening night performance of every Mainstage production for a complimentary champagne toast. This is a great way to celebrate the launch of a new production and to chat with Dobama Theatre staff, board, artists and fellow audience members about the show.

MEMBER NITE

THE FIRST SATURDAY PERFORMANCE OF EVERY production

Dobama Members get a special experience at MEMBER NITE, the first Saturday performance of each production. Join Artistic Director Nathan Motta in the upstairs gallery at 7pm for drinks and a pre-show conversation with background about the play you’re about to see. Stick around after the show to take part in an actor talkback, complete with complimentary drink service at your seat!

THE AFTER SHOW

every Saturday night performance

At every Saturday night performance, stick around five minutes after the show for a deeper look into the production. Programming might include a chance to ask questions and hear thoughts from the cast or creative team, a panel from a community organization connected to the show, or a moderate discussion about the play you just saw!

sELFIE STATIONS

on display in the 1st floor lobby for every mainstage production

Show your friends you were at Dobama, who you're with and what a good time you're having, red carpet style! Take a selfie or group photo in front of one of Dobama’s SELFIE STATIONS and post it to your Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, or other social media page.

ON CAMERA REACTIONS

every PREVIEW PERFORMANCE

At every Preview Performance (the Thursday prior to Opening Night), find a Dobama Team member in the lobby after the show and share your thoughts on the show. You may find your thoughts posted on Dobama social media!

FULL CIRCLE PROGRAM

Select events

Part of Dobama Theatre’s Full Circle Program builds understanding and empathy by curating programming that gives audiences a chance to engage with individuals from communities represented in the stories told on stage so they can learn how they can take action in supporting their neighbors in new, important ways.
